Good Coffee

Good news coffee aficionados! We have found a great supplier of fresh roasted, fair trade, award winning, coffee right here in Arkansas. We visited the roaster last week and tasted the brew while there. It is absolute sweet ambrosia. The beans will be roasted fresh for the Grand View and ground to order as we make our coffee and espresso. If you’ve ever shied away from exotic, full flavor, blends, due to a fear of bitterness, put all your anxieties into a paper sack and toss them on the fire. You will taste the difference that hand picking, careful processing, and roasting make to the flavor and quality of the coffee. So coffee drinkers get ready for an out of body taste experience.

More good news comes to us courtesy of North Arkansas College, in Harrison. Angie Davis’ Digital Media Projects class is supporting us by putting together a promotional package to help us get the word out about Ozarts and the Grand View. Local student Randi Stimson brought us to the school’s attention and now her and fellow student Charlsie Carden are working on compiling the story of the Grand View, and the mission of Ozarts, onto a DVD.

I must apologize for the randomness of my column lately. We are in a race to get the ground floor coffee and ice cream shop open and it’s hard to break away, from work on the hotel, to write. I am doing carpentry and clean up, while Sandra and Erin work on preparing the wood for staining and clear coating. The amount of prep work is mind numbing. Sandra and Erin have almost completed sanding on the wainscoting and have all but worn off their finger tips. We’ve also filled a dumpster in the last month, making our trash removal now well over 200 cubic yards.

The Ozarts Building: As I announced in my last column, we are going to move Ozarts into the hotel, in order to free up the Ozarts Building. If you are interested in leasing, or purchasing the building, please contact me. We haven’t listed with an agent yet, because we can’t divert the attention away from the hotel, to move out, until the ground floor is open. We would rather sell it to reduce our debt against the hotel, but would also be open to leasing it as that would effectively accomplish the same thing. It’s a great location, being right off the square and across the street from the post office. This is a rare opportunity as buildings on the square seldom come up for sale. With 3000 square feet and a free span roof it could be modified to fit any need. It would make a great studio for an artist, or a nice size antique mall.

Sponsoring the Grand View and Ozarts

Contractors: Help the Grand View and help yourself. If you are a contractor, or operate a home repair business, and would like to donate time to the Grand View, in exchange for the publicity of adding your support to this crucial public project, please contact me. Our most pressing needs right now are flat roof repair and sheet rock.

The Grand View is for everyone. If you would like to make a donation to the restoration of the Grand View you may do so at any Arvest Bank, by donating to the Ozarts account. If you would like to be thanked publicly send your donation to Ozarts. Any size donation would be helpful as it encourages us to know that people are behind the restoration of the Grand View. Any groups who would like to do a fund raising campaign for us please contact me, we could really use the help. We would also greatly appreciate being in your meditations and prayers as our recent struggles have tested us far beyond what we expected to face in this project and we need all the positive reinforcement we can get.

Calling all Disk Jockeys and Bands! We are looking for disk jockeys for Friday and Saturday night dance parties and to be available for private events. Contact us and let us know what you’ve got. We want to have a lot of live music in the Grand View, so bands let us know your available.

Artists: If you are and artists and you want to be considered for the Grand View opening, please contact us.

OZARTS

Ozarts is still looking for: Artists, Independent Publishers, Bands, musicians, potters. Please feel free to send me your questions by mail, or email.
